Paula Deen’s racial slur scandal has cost her a lot already, and it seems like it is going to cost her even more. The latest loss is her endorsement deal with Smithfield, the pork company that sold a ham with her name and face on it.
The company told TMZ “Smithfield condemns the use of offensive and discriminatory language and behavior of any kind.” The statement goes on to say “We are terminating our partnership with Paula Deen.”
There is more at stake for Paula. Her endorsement deals with QVC, Random House, diabetes drug makers Novo Nordisk, and Sears Holding have all said that they are closely monitoring this situation.
